SHOWCASE SUBMISSIONS | INDUSTRY MANDATE OPPS | PRODUCERS BUREAU

OK, Let’s real talk. The team is going on a (well-deserved) partial hiatus for this 2026 season (for family health, physical health, and mental health care), although we’re still launching two incredible showcases. However, the interest from the industry and our budding relationships are still growing exponentially—so if you know me at all, this hype train ain’t stopping. So, we’re opening a few script submissions opportunities, but they will look a bit different.

First, there won’t be any hard and fast deadlines for submissions, and we won’t have exact dates for showcase launches. We are aiming for a showcase in October 2026, so submitting by September would be ideal. As always, if our readers respond to your work, you will hear from us at some point. We won’t be able to notify you if you were not selected for any of our opportunities, and we can’t check to see if we received your script—reminder: we don’t charge writers and our team are volunteers. If you submit below, scroll up and down on your screen for a little thank you confirmation after you’ve submitted. Sometimes it’s not dead center in your screen, and a bit tough to see. If you submitted, your query came through, and it will be reviewed. I know not hearing anything back is difficult, but just keep writing the next thing. We just simply don’t have the manpower right now.

Secondly, if you’ve already signed up for our STAY IN THE LOOP newsletter (at the top of this page), you’ll receive updates about our opportunities. If you haven’t, and are interested in a handful of rad emails a year, like being the first to know about open mandate opps, etc., please do.

Lastly, in addition to my own writing career, I am producing now — discovery, development, and studio intros. If myself or the team discovers a script we absolutely love, I will be in contact about potentially working together as producer and writer. If so, I would be personally taking your material directly to our VIPs within the market place. I’m calling it a Producers Bureau right now. As I’m building up relationships with other producers and executives, I will also happily share your work with them if it’s not something I think I can help with. So, it’s a rad little network.

Potential FAQs:

  • Submitting your work to any of our showcases and open mandate opportunities, will automatically make you eligible for a potential producing partnership with myself. Meaning, if you submit to anything we offer, and myself or the team flags your script as ultra rad, I may reach out to see if you’d be interested in partnering up with me. There is not a specific submission portal to me directly for producorial consideration. If it’s something I honestly feel like I can be of help with, and is material that I’m obsessed with, I will reach out. Additionally, I am building relationships with Senior Producers with specific interests and mandates, and might contact you if there’s a fit for those partnerships as well. This DOES NOT mean I or we own any part of your submission in any way. Anything you submit your material to on this site, you retain full rights—as always. Period. The producer thing is just a perk I’d like to offer. And you don’t have to do anything different besides simply submitting your work as you usually do. And you can tell me to kick rocks. I grew up dirt poor in the south, kicking rocks and hitting them with a broom stick is actually quite fun.

  • If you have material that fits our OPEN MANDATE OPPORTUNITIES, yes, you should submit to that in addition to also submitting to our annual showcases. You will not automaticlaly be opted in for consideration. All data goes to a spreadsheet, and they are seperate. So, if you fit an annual showcase and one of our open mandates, submit to both separately. And yes, they are free.

  • Can I submit multiple scripts to the same showcase/mandate opp? Yes. Should you? Probably not. You already know this answer. Submit your absolute best, most polished script. The one all your writers group raves about. The one with all the accolades. I/we LOVE discovering new material that hasn’t been on the contest circuit yet, and being the world premier for your new stuff, so, definitely submit brand new work to us. But, not first drafts. Hell, not even third drafts. Make sure it’s fantastic and your best effort. Make sure it’s been in a drawer for 3 weeks and you’ve rewritten two times since then.

In conclusion (do people still say that?), we are still free to submit. We are still ran by volunteer writers and producers. We are still champions of underrepresented voices. We just ask that you continue to be patient with us as we take a bit of time off, and be ultra patient if you submit to any of our opportunities. You’ll hear from us if there’s a fit for anything we’re offering all year. And it honestly is more likely to be in 2027.

PS. If you’re interested in joining our reading team, and/or have serious ambitions (experience is a plus) about potentially becoming a producer, a creative/development exec, or interest in literary management, drop your details HERE. Readers would be an immediate interest of ours, and the other potential job aspects of the industry would be more for a longterm plan, possibly. Again, we are a VOLUNTEER company currently. Opportunity, experience, building relationships, and showcasing your material is what we’re able to offer as compensation presently. Plus you get some ultra rad street cred amongst the writing community (we hope).

Thank you for reading my longwinded note. I didn’t have time to write a shorter one ;) And as a team, we are infinitely grateful to all of your incredible support for what we’re trying to do here. And thank you for sharing your voice with us, and continuing to write, even though we are all experiencing terribly turbulent times. The only thing that matters is your health and your family. Keep writing when you’re able to, but please empower yourself to take some time off for your own mental health.

LET’S BREAK SOME LEAD!
